February Business Meeting & Mentorship Session 2026 at Onitsha Business School

The February edition of the Business Meeting and Mentorship Session of UDUF Africa was successfully held on Saturday, 14 February 2026, at the Onitsha Business School, GRA, Onitsha. The gathering brought together emerging entrepreneurs, young professionals, students, and leaders from different sectors for an impactful session focused on personal growth, business excellence, and purposeful living.

The central focus of the meeting was the theme "Love What You Do: Thriving in Relationships and Business", delivered by the Theme Discussant, Dr. Chinwe Nebolisa. In her address, she delivered a strong message centred on commitment, responsibility, and the power of mindset in shaping success. She reminded participants that results do not come by chance but through deliberate effort, discipline, and the courage to fight for meaningful outcomes.

She emphasised that principles are universal and produce results wherever they are applied. According to her, love is not merely a feeling but a decision backed by responsibility, sacrifice, and intentional action. She challenged participants to develop the mindset of resilience, explaining that true achievers reach a point where quitting is no longer an option and they resolve to either win or learn.

She further explained that commitment is the difference between wishful thinking and real success. People who succeed, she noted, do so because they make up their minds to move forward regardless of obstacles. Participants were encouraged to qualify themselves continually through learning, discipline, and skill development.

In discussing personal responsibility, she asked participants to reflect on whether they are using their circumstances as stepping stones or allowing those same circumstances to control their future. She stressed that success happens when preparation meets opportunity and that everyone must build staying power in order to thrive in business, career, and relationships.

She also highlighted that it is possible to do what one loves and at the same time learn to love what one does by building competence and meaning in one's work.

Speaking on the benefits of loving what one does, she explained that it improves emotional well-being, strengthens confidence, and produces continuous personal improvement. It also increases productivity, enhances performance, and leads to more consistent results in both professional and personal life.

On how to cultivate this mindset, she advised participants to reframe their perspective towards work and life, focus on their strengths rather than weaknesses, and intentionally pursue growth through learning, mentorship, and disciplined action.

Book Review Session: Good to Great by Jim Collins

Another major highlight of the programme was the book review session on Good to Great by Jim Collins, facilitated by Dr. Edwin Obioma. The session exposed participants to the principles that distinguish excellent organisations from average ones. Key lessons discussed included disciplined leadership, clarity of purpose, and the importance of building sustainable systems rather than chasing quick success. Participants engaged actively, asking questions and sharing examples from their own business and leadership experiences.

Founder's Remarks: Building a Legacy of Servant Leadership

In his remarks, the Founder of the foundation, Dr. Ezuma Smart Chinedu, delivered an inspiring message that focused on responsibility and legacy. He encouraged participants to see themselves as part of Africa's emerging generation of ethical, community-focused servant leaders and entrepreneurs. He emphasised that leadership is not about titles but about impact, service, and the ability to transform communities.

He reiterated the organisation's mission to connect, inspire, and transform young people so they can build stronger and sustainable communities across Africa. He also explained that the monthly business meetings are deliberately structured to provide continuous mentorship, accountability, leadership training, and collaboration opportunities. According to him, consistent engagement helps participants remain focused on their goals, refine their ideas, and grow through shared learning and exposure.

Parliamentary Session & Interactive Discussions

The event also featured a structured parliamentary session which reinforced leadership discipline, order, and participatory governance. The interactive nature of the programme allowed participants to ask questions, contribute ideas, and connect with mentors and peers. This format ensured that every attendee had the opportunity to engage directly with facilitators and experienced business leaders.

Networking & Business Partnerships

Attendance was impressive and the level of participation showed a strong hunger for growth among attendees. The networking session provided opportunities for business partnerships, mentorship relationships, and professional collaborations that are expected to produce lasting impact beyond the meeting. Many participants exchanged contacts and began discussions on potential joint ventures and collaborative projects.

Conclusion & Outlook

Overall, the February Business Meeting and Mentorship Session achieved its objectives of equipping participants with practical knowledge, inspiring them towards purposeful living, and strengthening networks among emerging leaders. The success of the event once again demonstrates the growing relevance of UDUF Africa as a platform for leadership development, entrepreneurship growth, and community transformation across the continent.

Plans are already underway for the March edition, which promises to build on the momentum generated in February and continue providing young African leaders with the tools, connections, and inspiration they need to succeed.
